Welcome
to a Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Manufacturing of Spiral
Stairs at The Iron Shops main plant in Broomall,
Pennsylvania. The following videos will take you on a
behind-the-scenes tour of our manufacturing facility.
Sit back, relax and watch as we show you how a spiral
stair is made.
Watch
as a computer controlled water jet easily cuts through
a 1/4" thick sheet of steel, while a vacuum lift loads
a plasma cutting table.
View
our state-of-the-art plasma cutter shaping treads from
a piece of steel and our robot welding arm weld treads
to their sleeves.
Old-world
craftsmanship is alive and well, watch as our mechanics
weld various stair components and shape a custom steel
handrail.
Watch
as painters in our environmentally friendly paint shop
coat and bake various stair components, then take a trip
up to our wood shop to watch the making of a solid oak
handrail.
See
the shipping department in action as they package, palletize,
and load spiral stairs into tractor-trailers on their
way to you!
