The Iron Shop Featured on Home & Garden Televisions Renovations
BROOMALL, Pa., September 23, 2003
The Iron Shop, the leading manufacturer
of spiral stair kits, was recently featured on an episode of the popular Home
and Garden Television (HGTV) program Renovations. The show, which airs weekly
for one-half-hour, is geared toward the intermediate to advanced home renovator
and remodeler who understands the language of construction and is not afraid
to tackle almost any project.
The Iron Shop was featured in the second part of a two-part episode in which
a beach house was being renovated. During the first episode 25-foot wooden pilings
were driven into the ground to support a new second story addition. The addition,
including a roof deck, was framed and an existing second floor deck was extended.
A new roof was completed and new cedar siding and textured cement board was
put up on the exterior of the house.
The second episode, in which The Iron Shop was highlighted, showed work at the
beach house coming to a close, with drywall and trim being installed in the
master bedroom, while cement board and glass block went up in the mater bath.
The railing for the second floor deck was completed and the exterior metal spiral
stair kit from The Iron Shop was installed to provide access to all three floors.
Renovations host Barte Shadlow and Ron Cohen, one of The Iron Shops owners,
took viewers on a tour through The Iron Shop during the program to show them
how a spiral stair kit is created from start-to-finish beginning with
the production process and ending in the companys shipping department.
Later in the program Shadlow showed viewers the spiral stair being installed
at the beach house.
