The Iron Shop Offers One-Half Turn, Combination-4 and Combination-5 Spiral Stairs to Solve Limited Space Issues

BROOMALL, Pa., November 20, 2001 — Need to put a stair in an area where space is an issue, a straight stair is completely out of the question and you do not have enough room for a traditional spiral stair? The Iron Shop has a solution for you — use a One-Half Turn, Combination-4 or Combination-5 Stair Kit.

The Iron Shop's Metal Stair Kits for restricted openings are an excellent solution when limited space is a concern, because they take up less square footage than a traditional stair on both the upper and lower floors and only require minimal well openings.

The One-Half Turn Spiral Stair Kit (5'6" diameter) provides a solution to various restricted well opening, entrance and exit conditions. It can be installed either right or left hand up, and requires only a minimum well opening of 36" x 68". It is recommended for use as entry into a basement, loft or other tight space. The One-Half Turn does exactly what its name suggests, making approximately "one-half" turn from top to bottom. Featuring various riser heights, the One-Half Turn's metal treads come pre-drilled to accept required wood coverings. In addition, most accessories available for The Iron Shop's Metal Spiral Stair Kit can be used with this particular style stair.

The Iron Shop's Combination-4 and Combination-5 Stair Kits are also used when a solution is needed for a special entrance, exit or well opening requirement and only 36" width well opening is available. Both stairs are comparable in that each is available in various riser heights; makes approximately one-quarter turn from top to bottom; can be installed right or left hand up; and features metal treads pre-drilled to accept wood coverings. In addition, a variety of accessories are available to dress up each type of stair. However, as much as these part-straight, part-spiral stairs are alike, they differ.

The Combination-4 features a minimum well opening of 36" x 72", with its top straight section made up of a four tread welded unit.

The Combination-5 features a minimum well opening of 36" x 81", with its top straight section made up of a five tread welded unit. In addition, the Combination-5 offers more headroom than the Combination-4.

When you don't have the space to use a traditional straight stair, and would rather not use a ladder, the One-Half Turn, Combination-4 or Combination-5 Spiral Stair Kit may be the answer.
