Metal Spiral Stairs

Metal Spiral Staircases from The Iron Shop can be as simple or as elegant as you like. The standard Kit provides everything needed to install your spiral staircase, including all fasteners and easy-to-follow instructions. You can choose from a full-line of accessories to customize your spiral staircase to your individual taste and decor.

Metal Stairs features

All steel construction with polyethylene handrail.

Heavy 12 gauge steel treads and landing each welded to a 4″ round collar that precisely slides over the 3-1/2″ diameter center pole.

Railing spindles and landing railing are 3/4″ square steel tube.

10″ x 1/4″ thick round metal base plate with pre-drilled holes for bolting to floor.

Treads and landing are pre-drilled to receive hardwood covering or underlayment for carpeting.

Railing spindles have an adjustable cup shape fitting to receive the handrail.

1-1/4″ round black polyethylene tube handrail (shipped coiled).

All steel components are primed black.

Spiral Kits fit into a square well opening 2″ larger than the stair diameter. Round opening option is available.

Standard Kits are furnished with 11, 12, or 13 risers to fit floor-to-floor heights from 8’0″ to 10’3-1/2″. Non-standard Kits can be ordered for other heights.

Kits available in 3’6″, 4’0″, 4’6″, 5’0″, 5’6″, 6’0″, 6’6″, and 7’0″ diameters and CODE conforming models.

Same stair may be installed either right or left hand up.

Kits also install easily against a balcony or deck.

Normal assembly time for the Standard Kit is four to six hours, using just a few simple tools.

Metal Stairs variations & LINES

The One-Half Turn or Quarter Turn stairs can provide a solution to some restricted well opening, entrance, or exit conditions.

This graceful stair will enhance new construction, as well as a renovation in an interior or exterior setting. Perfect as a main stairway to a balcony, loft, deck, or finished basement.

Alternate Tread Design Kits feature 36″ wide smooth steel treads that can be used as is without covering, or may be covered with our optional oak treads or 1″ plywood-used as an underlayment for carpeting.

Features

Unique, patented design locking tread support sleeves make assembly quick and easy.

Standard Kits for finished floor-to-floor heights of 7’6″ to 9’8″. Non-standard Kits available for other heights.

4″ x 4″ square steel tube center beam with 3/16″ x 18″ wide header and floor plates.

Tread supports are 3/16″ thick steel, 8″ deep, and 24″ wide to accept wood coverings.

Optional spindle kits and handrails available.

Optional stair tread coverings available in solid oak as a finished tread or plywood as an underlayment for carpeting. Wood size is 36″ x 10-1/2″ x 1″.

Metal or all oak wood stairs with floating wood treads.

These architecturally driven staircases feature wooden or metal spindles that visually disappear into the treads creating a floating effect. Our standard kit includes everything you need to install your staircase, including all fasteners and easy-to-follow instructions.

Our new lined stainless steel rail system gives your spiral stair a high tech feeling and a high fashion touch with long, lean lines. Mimicking cable rail, the multi-piece fittings offer a sleek alternative to traditional vertical spindles.

The new Multi-Line Stainless Steel Rail System works with any metal stair kit.
