Tread Materials

Smooth plate treads are standard with holes to accommodate screws, coverings may be added if desired. Custom smooth plate treads are available without holes, check with your Sales Associate. Steel is recommended for interior applications and is available unfinished (mill), prime painted black, or powder coated for interior applications. Steel is also available unfinished (mill) for exterior applications with finish painting to be completed by the Customer. Aluminum is recommended for exterior stairs. Aluminum is available unfinished (mill), prime painted black, or powder coated for interior and exterior applications.

Diamond plate treads add traction for added slip resistance. Steel is recommended for interior applications and is available unfinished (mill), prime painted black, or powder coated for interior applications. Steel is also available unfinished (mill) for exterior applications with finish painting to be completed by the Customer. Aluminum is recommended for exterior stairs. Aluminum is available unfinished (mill), prime painted black, or powder coated for interior and exterior applications.
